Madeline Tsai is a versatile musician who trained as a conductor, pianist, organist, singer, and timpanist. Winner of the People's Choice Award at the 2017 Solti International Conducting Competition in Hungary.

After earning a B.F.A. (percussion) from the Taipei National University of the Arts, Ms. Tsai came to the United States, and received a master's degree in Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Further studies took her to Vienna, where she served as a freelance coach and pianist for singers from the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper, and for master classes taught by Grace Bumbry. Ms. Tsai was also a member of the prestigious Vocal Ensemble of St. Stephen's Cathedral.

2019 and 2020, she enrolled in Royal Opera House JPYAP WoCo Courses. 


One of six women selected for Dallas Opera's 2019 Linda and Mitch Hart Institute for Women Conductors. Mentoring by Carlo Montanaro, Emmanuel Villaume and Nicole Paiement.

2021, she is invited as conductor fellow at Cabrillo Festival for contemporary music led by Christian Macelaru.
